GUL No.1 Powered by Light – a water sport classic
GUL No.1 is a classic water sports watch designed in Sweden for an active life both in water and on land. It’s waterproof to 10 ATM – swim and snorkel safe – and is equipped with the classic Velcro strap that works just as well with or without a wetsuit.
GUL No1 inherits many of its design features from the very first GUL watch in the mid 1980´s. But it has a much higher technical specification than the “original”.
High quality and durability
GUL No1 is equipped with a movement from Epson cal. AS01A, known for its quality and durability, and a hardened mineral glass to withstand harsh conditions in water and on land. The classic Velcro strap is of high quality, is washable and resists tough use. It keeps the watch on the arm even if a spring bar should come loose. There is a large selection of straps colors and they are easy to change.

The Swedish Netflix mini-series “The Breakthrough” (“Genombrottet”) featured a children’s watch made by GUL. The sudden death of this child in the first episode made me realise that we are people of the moment; our lives can be over in the blink of an eye. We should savour every second.
I had never heard of GUL, but now I had to have one of their watches. I found the GUL website and as the children’s watches were too small for my wrist and the watch model featured in Genombrottet was no longer listed, I ordered this warm orange-brown dial version. Timeless design, light and robust, it has become my daily companion. I swapped the standard Velcro strap for the light brown Swedish elk leather strap, which perfectly matches the colour of the watch’s dial.
